Katherine Jones: A single word describes her voice:
pure. Now a member of the duo, "Someone's Sister", Katherine Jones has
finally found her musical freedom of expression. Katherine isn't afraid
to push the limits of traditional acoustic style to forge her own artistic
language. As she delivers her message, her audience is held by her vocal
clarity. Katherine's love for music began in her youth. She was often publicly
recognized for her vocal and theatrical performances around her hometown
of Raleigh, NC. It wasn't until November of 2002 that she found musical
independence playing guitar and writing her own music. Katherine's musical
partner, Georgia Winfree, was the first to put a guitar into her hands.
Since that day Katherine has looked to Georgia as well as other great artists
such as Kristen Hall while developing her own creative voice.
Katherine's music, like her life, is an energy in progress that is constantly
evolving both artistically and emotionally. Her personal creativity has
been the result of human connection, loss, and ultimately reflection. Her
musical purpose has been the expression of her passage and her desire to
create something identifiable, allowing personal life experiences to touch
others. Taking on the new role of songwriter, Katherine hopes to take her
audience on a musical journey that will lead them to personal understanding
and growth.
Now living in Greenville, NC and working in the medical field, Katherine
is busy promoting and touring with their new CD, Hand Me Downs, released in
October of 2004. The project was produced and engineered by Karen Kane. With Katherine's sincere lyrics and peaceful style be ready to be pulled
into one woman's discovery of life and love.
