South Eastern Women's Studies
Association Conference
East Carolina South Eastern Women's Studies program recently brought Winona LaDuke to Greenville, NC as part of their 20th anniversary conference. For those of you who are not familiar with Winona LaDuke, she is a nationally known Native American activist who ran for the vice Presidency in the year 2000 on the green ticket, along side Ralph Nador. She is the founding director of the White Earth Land Recovery Project. and the Honor the Earth project. Here she is pictured below with the Indigo Girls, who have played a large part in Honor the Earth since its beginning in 1993.

We had a wonderful time meeting so many amazing women from across the US.

We were honored to share the evening with Winona and get to know such an amazing spirit. We are looking forward to working along side her again at future events.
