May 2009 - Family Fest - Wilmington, NC
Family Fest was a celebration put on by the Frank Harr Foundation and St. Jude's Metropolitan Community Church in Wilmington.

The foundation was formed following the death of Frank Harr (April 26,
1952-May 8, 2008). Harr was a life-long resident of Southeastern North
Carolina who was dedicated to building community, educating others
about human rights and promoting equality.


The primary purpose of the Frank Harr Foundation is to educate the public on matters concerning the LGBT community in order to impart a sense of
unity,
equality and acceptance.



The night was one of fellowship and leaders
in the community working together
for the cause of love and acceptance.

February 1990 murder of
32-year-old lesbian Talana Kreeger.

Senator Julia Boseman is honored with the
"Frankly Speaking" award for her sponsorship of the School Violence Prevention Act. This bill provides protection for all children against bullying. Many characteristics are protected by this bill including the actual or perceived characteristic of sexual orientation and gender identity.
