"Someone's Sister" the acoustic duo comprised of Georgia Winfree and Katherine Jones released their début album "Hand Me Downs" at the end of 2004.  Since then, they have traveled across the US singing and spreading their message of child abuse prevention.  Their music provides the perfect blending of rock and folk as each artist lends her own life experience to create music unlike any other.

Winfree and Jones met in 1994 while going to college. It was not until 2002 that they began to pool their musical resources. Winfree and Jones believe that although each of us is different, we are all part of a family- someone's daughter, neighbor or sister- thus "Someone's Sister".   In 2003, they began work on their first CD, "Hand Me Downs", which was released in October of 2004. The combination of these two voices has been well received but their desire to raise awareness about the need for education and the prevention of child abuse has touched their audiences even more.  They have taken this message to several venues across eastern North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and New York.   Someone's Sister was featured by NPR's "All Things Considered" and have appeared at the infamous "Bitter End" in New York.  In addition to sharing their music, they also have spoken to groups on college campuses and elsewhere about their music and desire to help others who have been touched by abuse.
