Event Description:
Someone's Sister, an
acoustic-folk duo comprised of Georgia Winfree and Katherine
Jones, sings to raise money for the creation of a child
abuse prevention foundation. They are bringing their music and
message to the Winterville Christian Church Coffee House on
January 5th at 8:00pm. You don't want to miss the opportunity to
hear their clean, rich harmonies, which have been referred to by
one NPR radio host as "a cold glass of sweet tea after a hard
day." Although they've drawn comparisons to k.d. lang, Patsy
Cline, and the Indigo Girls, Curve Magazine says that "these
wailing chicks proved on their recent CD, Hand Me Downs, that
they are in a class of their own." They've performed at numerous
college campuses and music festivals across the country, Eddie's
Attic in Atlanta, and even at New York's The Bitter End. Whether
you go for the music or to support the cause, Someone's Sister
will have something to offer. Come get a cup of coffee, hear some
great tunes, & support a good cause!
